DIVINITY

And before divinity there was nothing but

the vast firmament that awed the upturned eye

gazing starwards from a lonely green sphere

spinning somewhere in the universe

And then came divinity carefully curated

bespoke tailoring to suit masses that disputed

and argued for ages about laws convoluted

laws that were given to those chosen by divinity

And now we stand grappling with divinity

its clauses and rules dividing communities

while those that debated and argued are found

interred with nothing; dust in the ground
