THE MAN FROM EARTH

Mist rolling over a ruined rooftop

Under the heavens where once there were Gods

Curls around a murmur or two

Engaged in the indistinct conversation

Time swept by an arm of convenience

Ticks on under the eyes of the Moon

And the benevolent crowd of satellites

Applaud from the balcony seats above

No ordinary story this constructed by consequence

Or rational explanation for the absurd

To friends and soon to be future family

Spun by a Man who has never been heard

Insanity tip toes on the razors edge

As disbelief plays passing the parcel

An impossible premise allowed existence

Seeds mistrust as the plot unravels

Every emotion conceivable on display

Hurt and laughter making nervous companions

Anger flows free as does fear unchecked

Defiant eyes flashing differing opinions

And long after the stage goes silent

The mist takes flight to the north

Listening to the spreading whisper

A story of the Man from Earth
