FROM MY WINDOW

A sound, a furious buzz, industrious whirring I see
A blur of wings, visiting the yellow corsage
that drapes itself over old brown forks
And bumbling through the fronds green
sniffing sweet aroma, flitting flushed
a pollen carrier, a yellow speckled warrior
oscillates making lazy patterns
focused on all that matters
With nay a sound, a shrieking dart
feather tipped arrows, screams to the ground
The target spied with undivided attention
Folded wings hell bent on destruction
A swoop faster than a blink of an eye
Snatches prey then flies to the sky
Outside there is quiet save the flowers
whispering about the disappearing act
The blur of wings on the field of yellow
The sudden absence of the winged shadow
Its a cloudy day full of wind and disorder
cotton candy sailing in groups along the border
A goat here, a cow there, a dog , a solitary cat
Looking at the electric lines dividing the dry lake
Orange butterfly clapping without a break
Cuckoo's calling to the heavens above
Come down rain, Do not tarry
The burden is too heavy to carry
so let the secrets go, drop by drop
Drench the earth, the parched land
waiting for the Aquarian hand
