THE TWIST

SONNET EXPERIMENT - INSPIRED BY - THE TWIST

Dances until the moon hides from the stars
Turning and spinning compact discs with ease
Pages inscribed with delightful memoirs
Running wild in nature with soothing breeze

Worries tossed aboard a ship that sails lost
behind canvas billowed by free spirit
Flag unfurled the skull and ivory crossed
Adhering to the code of the pirate

Mermaids in finery fiendishly stare
Singing hips, wilfully hoping to crash
Horses with blinkers seldom do they care
Poseidon's distraction merely a splash

but shadows they scuttle, masked by the mist
Ship lies abandoned, the end game, The twist !
