Goa Diary Day two
Jan 15, Day Two
Broom & Mop at 5 AM
My in-built alarm went off at 5 am and despite every effort I could not get back to sleep. Armed with a broom and a mop I went about the cleaning of the flat, room by room. By the time Josh woke up the flat was three quarters clean. this meant that we had nothing to do after a sumptuous breakfast of scrambled eggs and salami. We did the next best thing ... we slept!!
No Lunch, Morjim Beach Head Calisthenics
We got up at 1 PM and were not feeling particularly grubby considering that breakfast was had 2 - 3 hours prior. We picked up some coke and water and headed for Morjim. Phillipe was at the shack waiting for us and the wind to pickup. When it showed no signs of getting better, Phillippe suggested we drive down to the beach head. We set up the kites and were learning the rudiments of LEI’s when about 10-15 meters from us, an Israeli couple lay on the beach, proceeded to undress and in a couple of minutes started giving the entire world a demonstration of the missionary position at 3.30 in the afternoon! The three of us were jolted from our kite surfing lessons into watching the athletic duo perform sexual calisthenics in our neighborhood. Phillipe suggested getting a bongo and giving them a rhythm to go with their movement. An idea which was wholeheartedly seconded by Josh and I. Josh got to do some scudding while tried my hand at body surfing. Totally exhilarating experience. 6 pm we packed for the day said goodbye to Phillipe. Josh and I headed to a French restaurant up on Asvem beach called La Plage (The Plague???). We found pretty OK french food and a lot of Indian Mosquitoes. I also found a gourmet stray dog that relished the leftovers of Moroccan chicken. We swiped a salt shaker from there as well as a stone which was used to keep the bill from flying. Actually, I asked permission for the stone! On our return we encountered waves of alternating hot and cold air as we climbed up to Mapusa. Not a pleasant feeling when you are riding a bike wearing wet underwear. Thus ended day two.
